I’m quoting Emily Dickinson again today.
Let’s take the word dying and not look at it as the end of our life.
Ms. Dickinson is using death as a metaphor comparing dying to one last crazy night before we start a new journey.
I’m going to take dying and use it as changing chapters in our lives and starting new.
Some of us die in a living body because it’s hard to veer off the road we know.
I’m not going to waste a paragraph on examples in life that we’ve gone through that were hard to move out of.
And it’s easier said than done!
Life is crazy! Life is hard!
Harder for more people than you think!
Eventually the craziness and tough periods end in life.
Just square your shoulders and trudge through….
You’ll die sooner than later!
My dad was my age in 1992 and he’s gone. Thirty years from now is 2052….
….seems like a long time from now, doesn’t it?
1992 was yesterday…. It was day before yesterday at most.
I have a lot of wild nights left before 2052. I have a lot of dying before 2052, but I sure as hell have a ton of living before 2052.
It’s National Tamale Day… now in the last 30 years, since 1992, Chicago has seen a ton of Latinos move into town.
They have brought the real deal with them.
Tamales in homemade cornmeal wrapped in corn husks.
They are gorgeous and a welcomed addition to the Chicago buffet,
BUTT….
Give me a Tom Tom. Until 1992 Tamales we’re wrapped in white paper with strings on each end. Tom Tom Tamales, since 1937. Made in Chicago!
