Monday morning and I’m a man of few words. The Morning Chalkboard has a quote by King Lear as he refuses shelter during a torrential rain storm.
Maybe we are all too stupid to get out of the rain? Maybe standing in the rain washes us clean from the guilt and pain we collect through life?As we turn the page into the first full week of December it’s time to reflect on many things. The Christmas and Hanukkah season will bring our families closer together and hopefully closer to our Faith as well. In less than a month it will be 2023. The excitement that I had three years ago when we were about to enter the ‘20’s has washed away…
I will let the rain wash away what the world has endured these last thirty six months. In our personal struggles we must learn to endure and continue to move on. Because moving on is the only choice.
On this day in 1933 Prohibition ended. We spent over a decade trying to keep the country sober. We lost tax revenue and spent a large amount to uphold the law. Eventually the mob won…. So today it’s proper to enjoy your favorite cocktail or beer to celebrate Repeal Day.
If the toughest decision today is whiskey drink or gin drink? It’s going to be an easy day!
Pour on,
Cheers!
