Hazel and I have been watching the show together when she comes over to Riverside.
Coach Lasso explained to my daughter that life is an endless string of opportunities. If you make the correct choices more often, you will succeed in life. If you make dumb-ass decisions, you will fail.
The Latin phrase in the grabber section means “the secret of my day.”
Pope JP2 was big on this idea. He took the secreta diei mei as his preparation and prayer time. Kind of like his chance to meditate about the Eucharist, his Faith, the church and the relationship that he had with the skinny Jewish kid.
My secreta diei mei time is when I pick up the chalk. It is when I take the chalkboard hanging in my kitchen and use it for therapy.
We all need fifteen or twenty minutes to sit down and reflect on life. Helps us ponder the choices, chances and challenges we face every day.
My choice now is to go make my bed and drive over to the Oakbrook Terrace Board of Trade…..
