This is
today's Morning Chalkboard.
The first thing that sticks out to me wasn't the quote. It was the sunset.
Tonight the sun goes down
at five minutes after eight o'clock. Before long we will have our last sunset after 8:00 p.m., one of those
late summer milestones that quietly tells us Autumn is around the corner…
I added the countdown to Labor Day,
Thanksgiving and Christmas to give you Chalkheads a sense of where we are in
the year. Thirty-four days until Labor Day. Less than two weeks until school
starts. One season is winding down while another is already knocking on the
door.
As for today's quote...
"What are men to rocks and
mountains?"
I don't have much wisdom to offer about this quote. I do know it is from Pride and Prejudice. I simply like it and the perspective it has, so I chalked it down.
Not every quote has to come with a Jumbo
sermon or story. Sometimes a few words are enough to make you stop, look
around, and remember how small we are compared to the world. A joint that was here long
before us and will be here long after we are enjoying eternal love.
Enjoy your Tuesday, Chalkheads.
Summer is moving a little faster now, but
it is Tuesday morning and I’m already in a daydream…
